Dream Bucks II - The Missing Trophy

Dream Bucks II - The Missing Trophy, is the second image in the Dream Bucks series, following up on the series premiere Dream Bucks I: Hole in the Horn Buck. The Dream Bucks series features some of the world’s most impressive whitetails, and I promise the images of these giant trophies will fill your hunting dreams long after you close your eyes goodnight!

This buck had hunters taking notice, and dreaming of him on their wall, a year before its eventual harvest when its shed 2002 antlers were found, one each, by two local farmers.

Brian Andrews is the lucky hunter whose dream eventually came true. Brian took this magnificent buck at the age of 16 in 2003, with a borrowed bow, near Independence, IA. It is the #2 Iowa archery non-typical with a 26-point rack measuring 253 1/8 inches on the Boone and Crockett scale. The rack exhibits long main beams, lengthy tines, several droppers, and a barrage of sticker points.

Tragically, just 6 months after this impressive monster was harvested, the mounted rack was stolen from the Andrews' home.

There is a bright side to this story, however. With help from Larry Huffman, the late founder of the Iowa Deer Classic; Tom Sexton, a talented antler sculptor; and many other others, a replica of the trophy rack was recreated based on photos and measurements. The new mount was presented to Brian and the rest of the Andrews family at the 2007 Iowa Deer Classic. The missing trophy mount has never been found.
